Since 2014, the Toledo History Center (located on Main St.) has graciously displayed the 7.5″ gauge, Live Steamer, Tender, and Box Car that was built by Master Craftsman, Curtis B. Silver. The YPRHS Museum’s limited space makes it difficult to properly display the exhibit; measuring approx. 13 feet and weighing just under a 1,000 pounds, this model locomotive needs a lot of room! The Toledo History Center is reorganizing their space and has requested we move the Silverado Railroad display elsewhere. Lincoln County is currently experiencing high rates of COVID cases and we want to express our gratitude to individuals who quarantine after exposure and stay home when they are sick. |
We’re calling for ALL HANDS ON DECK! The Silverado Railroad will be moved to the Toledo Public Library this Saturday Morning (11/05/2022) at 9 AM. A mechanical lift has been secured for the morning and the display will be loaded onto the YPRHS’ trailer for the move. |
Many thanks to the Toledo History Center for caring for the exhibit, to Greg Musil for organizing/securing help, and to the Toledo Public Library for displaying the locomotive. |
Any and all help is extremely appreciated. If you have any questions give Lisa a call at the Museum Caboose Office during open hours at 541-336-5256. |
